Swarm Removal

Mother Nature encourages strong colonies to divide to sustain the species. These swarms are usually very docile and we will come and remove them for no charge usually.

A swarm of bees sometimes frightens people, though the bees are usually not aggressive at this stage of their life cycle. This is principally due to the swarming bees’ lack of brood (developing bees) to defend and their interest in finding a new nesting location for their queen.

Swarm clusters, hanging off of a tree branch, will move on and find a new nesting location in a day or two. Beekeepers are called to capture swarms that are cast by feral and managed honey bees so they do not move into nearby structures.

Colony in Structure Removal

When honey bee swarms do move into structures, they should probably be removed by skilled beekeepers with experience. It is quite a project so we do charge for this service.

Experienced exterminators will not treat honey bee colonies in your property because the hive is extensive and treatment will only kill a great number of the bees and leave a couple of buckets of honey and wax to ferment in your wall, floor or roof.

We take great care to relocate the live colony from your wall to our hive and re close the opening needed to access the colony.
